Cosmetic Expectaion
Before Placing Your Order With Us at Undefined Destination,
We would like to assure you that every piece of our handcrafted solid wood furniture is unique and professionally finished with epoxy. We take great pride in offering custom-made charcuterie boards, cutting boards, clocks, coat hangers, and more.
As every tree has its own characteristics, so does every piece of furniture we create, and we celebrate the variations and imperfections that make each piece unique. Please read through the following guidelines to understand the cosmetic standards that apply to our products before placing an order with us.
WOOD & EPOXY VARIATIONS Each piece of furniture has a distinctive grain pattern and color variation due to the natural characteristics of the wood, which makes it impossible to guarantee an exact stain match with previous orders. We will use the stain or paint color you requested, but please understand that variations may occur due to the unique acceptance of stain by each piece of wood. We cannot rework the finishing to get a perfect match.
CUSTOM STAIN COLORS We do not match stain colors based on photographs. If you want a custom stain color, bring us the stain and specify the type of wood you want us to use. However, keep in mind that the unique grain pattern of each piece of wood means that color variations will occur. We cannot guarantee a perfect match.
SANDING & STAIN COLORS The finer the finish you want, the lighter the stain will be, while the more distressed the furniture is, the darker the stain will be. This is because the pores of the wood shut off as it is finely sanded, allowing less stain into the wood, resulting in a lighter color. However, the more distressed the furniture is, the more open the pores, leading to a darker stain. If you want a finely finished table based on a heavily distressed table photo, please note that the stain will look different.
GENERAL VARIATIONS IN FURNITURE Our handcrafted furniture may have unique characteristics such as open knots, visible brush strokes, micro-imperfections, textural variations in the epoxy finishes, unique distress marks, exposed screws, wood filler marks, joint lines, and nicks, splits, cracks, and other imperfections. Due to the custom nature of our furniture, we allow up to approximately 1" of variation across all measurements.
Solid wood may expand and contract due to changes in temperature and humidity, which may cause gaps between the boards of a traditional table top to widen over time. This is a natural movement that enhances the one-of-a-kind beauty of solid wood furniture and is not considered defective. For those who prefer to never have gaps between their table top boards, we recommend choosing our jointed top option.
REGULAR WEAR AND TEAR ON YOUR FURNITURE Your furniture is protected to a certain extent with industrial-grade epoxy, but micro-scratches may occur, which we have no control over. Please take care to avoid scratches, such as using seat cushions on your chairs regularly and being careful when sitting on your chairs in clothing with buttons or zippers. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that your furniture will not scratch.
